A few weeks ago, my coworker Kristin Kalscheur and I headed down to Willamette University in Salem to participate in a career event with their MBA students. It was a really great event and we met some fantastic students that any company would be lucky to have!
I particularly enjoyed the format that the event coordinator, Shelby Gould, pulled together for the Career Close-Up. When we first arrived, Kristin and I were scheduled to do mock interviews with Willamette students who were specifically interested in Waggener Edstrom. There we did resume reviews, provided some resume writing tips, and asked some sample interview questions. After the mock interviews, we then had the opportunity to rotate around the room from table to table, advising 5-6 students at a time. It was fun to interact with the students and see their excitement about possibly working at Waggener Edstrom in the future. Some tables were so enthusiastic we could’ve stayed for hours answering getting to know the students individually.
We’ve already received follow up emails and thank you notes from some of the students we met with, which we always love seeing!
Kudos to Shelby and her team for putting on a top-notch career event!
